the battle is ON

I wasn't going to write any more articles today... but the gauntlet has been thrown. Gideon has challenged me to an earworm competition. For those of you who do not know what an earworm is, read this article: Link

The battle began with:

"I closed my eyes,
Drew back the curtain,
To see for certain
What I thought I knew..."

DAMN YOU, SHE!!! LOL

I countered with:

"It's a small world after all... It's a small world after all..."

Gideon quite evilly came back with:

"Friday night and the lights are low
Looking out for the place to go
Where they play the right music, getting in the swing
You come in to look for a king
Anybody could be that guy
Night is young and the musics high
With a bit of rock music, everything is fine
Youre in the mood for a dance
And when you get the chance..."

and I responded with:

Day-o, day-ay-ay-o
Daylight come and he wanna go home
Day, he say day, he say day, he say day,
He say day, he say day-ay-ay-o
Daylight come and he wanna go home

And now, I'm opening the battle up to all of JU. I don't know how to determine who comes up with the worst earworm, but I'm sure popular vote could decide it.

Ok, everyone, what songs get stuck in YOUR ears.

Memory
All alone in the moonlight
I can smile at the old days
I was beautiful then
I remember the time I knew what happiness was
Let the memory live again

Looking back, I wonder if this was a good idea or not. I may just go crazy before this game is up.

LOL SHE...Andrew Loyd Webber is good for these, is he not?

In that vein, I present...

"So, if you are the Christ,
Yes, the great Jesus Christ,
Prove to me that you're no fool:
Walk across my swimming pool..."

The Body of Christ! Sleek swimmer's body, all muscled up and toned!
The Body of Christ! O, Lord Almighty, I wish I could call it my own!

To lay before the King, pa rum pum pum pum,

Why yes, yes he is. And, in light of that...

Don't cry for me Argentina,
The truth is I never left you
All through my wild days
my mad existence
I kept my promise
Don't keep your distance

I'm sailing away,
Set an open course for the virgin seas
on Apr 22, 2007
Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale,
a tale of a fateful trip.
That started from this tropic port,
aboard this tiny ship.
The mate was a mighty sailin' man,
the skipper brave and sure.
Five passengers set sail that day,
for a three hour tour, a three hour tour………
The weather started getting rough,
the tiny ship was tossed.
If not for the courage of the fearless crew,
the Minnow would be lost; the Minnow would be lost.
The ship took ground on the shore of this uncharted desert isle,
with Gilligan, the Skipper too,
the Millionaire, and his Wife,
the Movie Star, the Professor and Mary Ann,
here on Gilligan's Isle.

It's better if you don't know them. This song could be dangerous. (As you know, since you've gotten a song stuck in your head)

Come and listen to a story about a man named Jed
A poor mountaineer, barely kept his family fed,
Then one day he was shootin' at some food,
And up through the ground came a bubblin' crude.

Oil that is, black gold, Texas tea.

Well the first thing you know ol' Jed's a millionaire,
Kinfolk said Jed move away from there
Said Californy is the place you ought to be
So they loaded up the truck and moved to Beverly.

Hills, that is.
Swimmin pools, movie stars...

I had to sing this reggae style at freshman orientation in front of about 200 people... solo. A "friend" from summer camp volunteered me.

They're creepy and they're kooky,
Mysterious and spooky,
They're all together ooky,
The Addams Family.

Their house is a museum
Where people come to see 'em
They really are a scream
The Addams Family.

Greeeeeeen Acres is the place to be
Farm living is the life for me
Land spreading out so far and wide
Take Manhattan just give me that countryside...

And so we talked all night about the rest of our lives
Where we're gonna be when we turn 25
I keep thinking times will never change
Keep on thinking things will always be the same
But when we leave this year we won't be coming back
No more hanging out cause we're on a different track
And if you got something that you need to say
You better say it right now cause you don't have another day
Cause we're moving on and we can't slow down
These memories are playing like a film without sound
And I keep thinking of that night in June
I didn't know much of love
But it came too soon
And there was me and you
And then we got real blue
Stay at home talking on the telephone
We would get so excited and we'd get so scared
Laughing at ourselves thinking life's not fair
And this is how it feels

As we go on
We remember
All the times we
Had together
And as our lives change
Come Whatever
We will still be
Friends Forever

Now this stays in the skull for awhile.
