It's been a while. My computer crashed not long after my last article, and I've been so busy with school that I didn't make it back for a while. So, here's what you missed.

The BF and I broke up. Long story and even longer break up. We did the "together but not" thing for 5 months until I found out I had become the other woman. Eew. Needless to say, we no longer speak and I bought a new phone to replace the one he gave me. It's kinda sad that we can't be friends...but I have this thing about people lying to me.

My thesis is FINISHED!! After two years of "hard" "work" I finished the bloody thing. I presented it in December. I liked the way it eventually turned out, though I had a small sense of post-partum depression after it was over. I still read things and think "Gee! This would have gone so well in my thesis!" But I've forced myself to leave it as is... for now.

I met Neil Gaiman. He came to my school in November. He really inspired me to get back to work on the fantasy novel I have been writing for a while now. Nothing may come of my book, but I like it anyway. I had a few books signed by Mr. Gaiman and I treasure them and hide them when certain people come over so they don't get messed up.

I'm in my last semester as an undergrad. I've applied to grad. schools, though I haven't heard anything yet. I check my mail two times a day at least to see if any letters have come in. My fingers are cramping from keeping them crossed.

I have a stalker now. (I know you were wondering when I would get to the title) It's kinda creepy because I don't know if this person really likes me or really hates me. I don't know who they are. They started by stealing things with my name on them. (I am a resident assistant in a college campus dorm) and have gone as far as to burn one of my bulletin boards and to smear either blood or ketchup on my "Who's on duty?" sign outside my door. I'm trying not to think about it. My boss has no idea what to do, and neither do I.

There's a lot more that's happened, but that covers the major events.

Welcome back SHE. Sorry to hear about the break up, but CONGRATS on finishing your dissertation! That's brilliant news!

Re: your stalker. Have you thought about starting to file police reports on each incident. Many states now have stranger stalker laws. If they have burned a bulletin board--who knows what else they will do. Better to be safe by getting it all on record now, right?

Good luck, hope they go away!

Congrats on the Thesis!  And your stalker sounds just plain sick!  And scary!  be careful.

Hey Shades! Wasn't sure if anyone would remember me. I keep coming and going. The breakup, while painful, is behind me now and I am able to say, "I learned a lot from that relationship, and I feel very comfortable moving on." My thesis, on the other hand, was one of the best experiences of my life. Sometimes I can't believe I actually finished it.

As for the stalker: It doesn't seem that they've done enough to bring the police in yet... however, I have been filling out an incident report with my school each time. Since I am a "University official" these reports can be used by the police if they need to. I left out the porno sticker though. That had to be the funniest. It was a picture of a naked girl with a playboy banner covering up the "naughty" parts. "They" put it over my name on my "Who's on Duty" board. Fortunately, it came right off.

Hey Doc. Thanks for the congrats.

I'm just hoping my "stalker" is some rude resident who has a grudge and is just playing pranks. It's enough to kinda freak me out, but I hope they don't know that.

Stalkers are no fun . . . I had one once. It was quite the adventure - shrines on the wall, punches in the face, the whole kit'n'kaboodle . . .

If you're curious about my crazy stalker, read all about it here.
