I haven't had a chance to meet many people since I moved up here. Wasn't really expecting to. After all, I just moved last Friday, I'm constantly looking for a job, and I'm not a very outgoing person. However, my roommate's old roommate from across the street and I met the night I moved up here. After long discussions about Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, and Roswell, we've bonded. He's a really cool, really sweet guy who is (pardon the cliche) tons of fun.

My roommate has this potluck thing she goes to every Sunday. She and a bunch of friends get together, eat organic vegetarian food, drink wine, and BS each other. It's mildly amusing. However, I didn't feel as though I should go to it simply because I'm the new roommate to one of the members. It just didn't feel right. So, I thought I was looking forward to a night of cleaning, unpacking, and goofing around. Then, John came over. He asked me one of life's questions that almost always leads to some kind of fun... "Do you like karaoke?"

Why, yes, I do like karaoke. As it turns out, he had just purchased the game Sing Star Rock, and was headed to Walmart to buy Sing Star Pop. Knowing I needed milk, and that I was probably left at home alone with no friends in town, he asked if I wanted to head to Wallyworld with him and then try out the new games. Having nothing better to do, I said yes.

We spent the next four hours singing karaoke in his living room. My voice was rough from too much use (I haven't sung that much in a very long time) and my sides hurt from laughing so much. We do a spectacular rendition of Respect, by the way.

Then, he showed me some cool stuff online, like Asylum Street Spankers, a pretty funny group. (For the liberals, I suggest you watch "Stick Magnetic Ribbons on Your SUV" for the conservatives, you should watch "Whatever") And then there's this guy who does a one-man show, His band name is Final Fantasy. His name is Owen Pallett. You can look him up on YouTube.

Then, he loaned me a video game because, as he said, I have no life. I've been playing "Vampire- The Masquerade - Bloodlines" ever since. Of course, I'm pretty awful at video games, so he helped me out until about 1 o'clock this morning. And, by help me out, I mean he tried to teach me and when I got us killed (part of the fault was his, and he did admit it) he got us through the big warehouse and completed the mission. It's a twisted little game, but it's fun.

Alas, poor thing, his shower broke yesterday. I told him he was more than welcome to use our shower, and I left a note for my roommate to leave the back door unlocked for him.

So, after knowing this guy for five days, I let him walk into my house while no one is here and I'm asleep, and use my shower. Seems so unlike me. But, you have to do what you can for another Buffy fan.

Oh, and as soon as I can get my roommate's digital camera out, I'll post pictures of the new place, I swear!

I am. I am really starting to love it up here. No bad memories, and sushi and a very big library all in walking distance. I may stay up here for a while.

It's not like that! Of course, it would be a good line I suppose...
