Mostly about Fantasy genre: Special emphasis on Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter and Deed of Paksennarion. Music, poetry and random ramblings. Actually, anything is up for grabs. Probably not politics, but everything else is fair game. Please ignore al

LW told me to put up pictures of my FFF (first Fayetteville friend) when I put up pics of my new apartment. My roommate still can't find her camera, so there are no pictures as of yet. However, my FFF posted this video about working on his thesis and I, having written a thesis before as well, found it really funny and true to life. So, for your enjoyment, I give you John in "Literature Review"

I saw this ad above an email in my gmail account, and I couldn't resist clicking on it. I'm not a mother, and I haven't changed many diapers, so for all I know, this product could be really useful. However, as a single gal, I just find it really funny. Enjoy. Link

I haven't had a chance to meet many people since I moved up here. Wasn't really expecting to. After all, I just moved last Friday, I'm constantly looking for a job, and I'm not a very outgoing person. However, my roommate's old roommate from across the street and I met the night I moved up here. After long discussions about Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, and Roswell, we've bonded. He's a really cool, really sweet guy who is (pardon the cliche) tons of fun. My roommate has this pot...

Hello everyone! I moved into my new apartment yesterday so I now have internet again. I have to say, I love my new place. We have brand new carpet (or virgin carpet, as my roomie likes to say) a new stove, new dishwasher -- the works. It's bigger than some apartments, though smaller than some. I love, love, love my room. It is a shrine to geekdom, but that fits me pretty well. Nice, big closet holds most of my junk, and the furniture my parents have been buying me over the years fi...

Just dropping by to say "Hi" to everyone. I'll be back with continuous internet connection soon... but for now, I'm still going to be MIA. I'm visiting a friend who has internet, so I thought I'd better drop in and say hi. Sorry I can't comment on your articles... don't have the time. I'll try to catch up eventually. Love to you all! ~Sugar High Elf

I'm taking a mini vacation during the month of May. Now that I'm done with school, and I won't move into my apartment until June, I'm taking a much needed break. However, during this break, I won't have much Internet access, so I won't be around much. I'll check in every once in a while to see how everybody is doing and tell ya'll if anything interesting happens. See you in a month!

I recently discovered something about my housing staff. Apparently, we're all a bunch of alcoholics who have been drinking in our rooms all year long. Thing is, we all thought we were the only ones. So, last night, we gathered together to celebrate the end of the year by drinking in somebody's room. We knew we could drink together, because we found out on Friday, that we had all gotten drunk secretly on Thursday. Thing is, we still technically work for housing, and we are still (tech...

That's right. Today is the day that I finally graduate from college. After changing majors three times and staying here five years, I am done. I will graduate with a BA in English and a minor in Interdisciplinary Studies. During my time at college, I have traveled to Italy, Canada, Orlando, L.A. and Dayton, Ohio. I've met Gaelic Storm, Neil Gaiman, and that Napoleon Dynamite guy. I've taught a class, I've worked for my school, and I've spent countless hours writing papers. ...

Ok, I know we have some married couples and some siblings and I think some parent/kid relationships. I know some of the relationship here, but I was just curious how we all knew each other -- other than meeting on JU. I'll start. Myrrander is my older brother. He told me about JU about three years ago, and I've been blogging here on and off since then. Of course, when I started blogging here, I didn't tell him I was his little sis.

I enjoy seeing different sides of issues presented here on JU. Most of you are more than willing to participate in an intelligent debate of facts and ideas. I don't often participate in these debates, but I do read them. That being said, I do, occasionally, ask questions of JU. This is no different. President Bush vetoed Congress' Iraq funding bill today because it contained what he called an "arbitrary date for beginning withdrawal of American troops without regard to conditions on th...

I am now writing the final paper of my undergraduate career. At 11:00 am tomorrow, I will turn in my last paper, and I will be done with college. I will be finished. In honor of this, I feel like breaking into song... And now, the end is near; And so I face the final curtain. My friend, Ill say it clear, Ill state my case, of which I'm certain. Ive lived a life thats full. Ive traveled each and every highway; And more, much more than this, I did it my way. Regrets, Ive had...

I'm so close, I can almost taste it. And yes, surprisingly, graduation tastes like chicken. I have two papers to turn in -- a 10 pager on Harry Potter (see "of wizards and muggles") and five one-page responses and then... I'm finished. I will no longer be a college student, I will be a college alumna. I will also be officially accepted into graduate school. They've accepted me on the condition that I graduate... which I think is reasonable. It's exciting and scary all at the same ti...
